October 2007 News

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful (Colossians 4:2)
We are Christians. We believe our Lord and we are the soldiers of our Lord Jesus Christ in Spirit. We shall start everything by prayer so we can take the victory through participating with our Lord's work eagerly. When we pray, the glory of God will appear over not only you but our family, the church, and all our church members as well because of our Lord's banner of triumph. Our children that live in this United States as a Christian is getting in danger because the Christian culture is fading and evil cultures are getting popular in the United States nowadays. We, the parents, should do our best and take an effort to be a good Christian, pray hard, and awaken in Spirit, so our children can grow healthy in Christ. Halloween is this month, so our children may become unsteady in mind. If we are healthy Christians, then we should lead our children to the church culture and show them how awesome the Christian culture is instead of simply rejecting the Halloween, so our children can learn by themselves to stay away from the world. Let us work and pray harder together in this October.
Following is the information for October 2007.

NURSERY (0 - 1years) - You may follow the service through the TV. (Room#209)

TODDLER (1 - 2 years) - If your child can get along without you, you may leave your child before you go to worship service. If your child cannot get along without you, then you may have worship service through the TV with your child. (Room#214)  If you have any questions, call JeongOhk Jeong (707) 338-5856.

a. After-program (Teacher BoKyoung Kim) - after Bible study, from 12:00 to 1:00pm, our Sunday school provides Korean lesson and crafts while the parents attend Bible study. Please make sure your child is in class before you go to your small group. There are no after-programs during the last week of the month due to men and women's ministry meetings.

a. Worship service and Bible study are from 10:30 to 12:00pm. Worship is a very important factor in our children's lives. Please try to bring your child on time, and encourage your child to bring a Bible. NIV (New International Version) is recommended. Please write your child's name on both the front and back of the Bible.

b. The 'Promise Land' Choir will practice from 12:00 to 1:00pm at room 211.
The Song CD and Lyrics were distributed to your child(ren) on September 9th during the Choir. Please help your child to listen everyday and practice. Please pay the $15 for the Musical T-shirt with a child's name on the envelope. (See the attachment)

c. The Bible quiz tournament will be held at the end of October. Please have your child understand the Bible people as follow.
  - Oct 7th:Paul(Acts8:1-3, 9:1-19) and Deborah(Judges 4:4-5, 5:7)
  - Oct 14th:David(1Samuel 17:12-15, 34-37, 2Samuel 5:1-5, Psalms) and Mary, mother of Jesus(Luke 1:26-38, Matthew 19:25-27)
  - Oct 21st:Joshua(Exodus 24:13-14, Number 13:1-16, Deut.31) and Jonah(Jonah 1:1-17)
  - Oct 28th:Thomas(Matthew 10:1-4, John 14:5-7, John 20:24-31) and Rebekah(Genesis 24, 27:1-10)

OTHERS
A. Wednesday Service
  - 2 years through Kindergarten will meet at room 125 and have games, crafts and other activities. (Teacher-ShinJung Kim)
  - Kids Club: 1st grade through 5th grade will meet at room 211 and learn about Bible people, Bible memory Verses, and will play indoor games. (Teacher-Pastor SangKwon Kim)
  - Parents who have 1 year through under 2 years can have service through the TV at room 209.

B. Hallelujah Night - Age groups are from 3 years to 5th grades are welcome. The purpose of this event is to prevent our children from being involved in Halloween, so our church will prepare Hallelujah Night for our children on October 31 at 6:00pm. We need volunteers for decoration, game leaders, and food. (See the attachment)

C. Since our Sunday school has many activities during the year, we would be happy to receive the following donations:
Popcorn, Juice boxes, cookies, Thick Markers, Black and Red Sharpies, CDs, CD Cases, Colored Paper, Adult-size Scissors, Poster Boards, Glue sticks

D. Our children's Sunday school needs teachers and assistant teachers for preschool I & II, choir, activities, and decorations. If you want to volunteer, please let me know.

부모님들께,

기도에 항상 힘쓰고 기도에 감사함으로 깨어 있으라(골로새서 4:2) 우리는 크리스챤입니다. 주님을 믿고 영적인 전쟁에서 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 군사가 된 우리는 크리스챤입니다. 우리는 기도로 시작해서 기도로 승리하여 우리 주님의 일에 적극적으로 동참하는 크리스챤입니다. 우리 자신이 기도할 때 우리 주님의 승리의 깃발로 인해 우리뿐만 아니라 우리 교회와 교회의 몸된 우리 가정과 모든 교인들에게 주님의 영광이 임할 것입니다. 특별히 미국에 있는 우리 아이들에게 미국의 크리스챤 문화가 점점 사라지고 나쁜 풍습이 미국의 전체 문화로 바뀌는 이때에 우리 자녀들이 건강한 크리스챤으로 자랄 수 있도록 힘쓰고 애쓰는 참된 크리스챤이 되도록 부모된 우리가 더욱 더 깨어서 기도하는 10윌이 되길 바랍니다. 이번달은 할로인으로 인해 우리 아이들이 더욱 더 들뜨기 쉬운 달입니다. 건강한 크리스챤은 할로인을 배척하는 것보다 아이들이 교회 문화에 더욱 더 흥미를 느낌으로 스스로 세상문화로부터 지키는 법을 배울 수 있도록 길을 열어 주는 것이라고 저는 개인적으로 믿습니다. 같이 힘쓰고 애쓰는 10월 한달이 되길 바랍니다.

a. 예배와 성경공부가 10:30분부터 12:00 시까지 있습니다. 예배는 가장 중요합니다. 아이들이 예배를 배울 수 있도록 늦지 않게 보내 주시기 바랍니다. 성경책을 가지고 올 수 있도록 도와주시기 바랍니다. 성경은 미국에서 보편화된 NIV(New International Version)을 권하며 앞뒤에 모두 이름을 기입해 주셔서 잃어버리지 않도록 도와주십시오.

b. 에프터 프로그램 - 예배후 12:00시부터 1:00시까지 211호실에서 프라미스 랜드 찬양대 연습이 있습니다.
찬양 CD 와 가사가 9월 9일 아이들에게 배포되었습니다. 집에서 매일듣고 연습할 수 있도록 도와주시기 바랍니다. 또한 뮤지컬에서 입을 티셧츠값 15불을 어린이 이름을 봉투에 써서 보내 주시기 바랍니다.

c. 성경퀴즈대회가 10월 말에 있을 예정입니다. 이를 위하여 다음의 성경인물들을 이해할 수 있도록 도와주시기 바랍니다.
  - 10월 7일 : 사도 바울(사도행전 8:1-3, 9:1-19), 드보라(사사기 4:4-5, 5:7)
  - 10월 14일:다윗 (사무엘상 17:12-15, 34-37, 사무엘하 5:1-5, 시편전체), 예수님의 어머니 마리아 (누가복음 1:26-38, 마태복음 19:25-27)
  - 10월 21일: 여호수아 (출애굽기 24:13-14, 민수기 13:1-16, 신명기 31장), 요나 (요나서 1:1-17)

A. 수요예배
  - 2살 부터 킨더는 125 호실에서 게임, 공작 및 여러 가지 프로그램으로 아이들과 함께 합니다. (선생님-김 신정)
  - 킷츠 클럽: 1 학년부터 5학년은 211 호실에서 성경인물배우기, 성경암송하기 및 스포츠 같은 실내 게임이 있습니다. (선생님 - 김 상권 전도사)
  - 1살부터 2 살미만은 209호실에서 TV 모니터로 예배를 보실 수 있습니다.

B. 할렐루야 나이트 - 대상은 3살부터 5학년 아이들 모두 환영합니다. 아이들이 할로인 행사에 참여코자하는 것을 방지하고자 하여 교회에서 우리 유년주일학교 어린이를 위한 행사가 10월 31일 저녁 6시에 있습니다. 또한 데코레이션(2명정도)과 각종 게임리더(12명)와 음식 봉사자가 필요합니다.

C. 다음 항목들은 유년주일학교에서 여러 가지 행사와 에프터 프로그램으로 인하여 항상 쓰는 물품들입니다. 도네이션을 부탁드립니다.
